Canadel Cleaning Care

dining room canadel udesign 2

All Canadel surfaces are protected with a baked-on catalyzed lacquer. This coating is highly
resistant to marking, scratching and staining. It combines the transparency of lacquer with the
stability and durability of a catalyzed varnish, and is applied to each usable surface. Rule of
thumb: It must be safe to leave any food that can be eaten, drunk or digested on a Canadel
surface for up to 24 hours! This is a very important benefit for families and people who plan on
using their Canadel dining furniture every day!
Our tables are custom built in solid birch and wood surfaces must be treated with care. For
everyday use, we recommend using placemats, trivets, and table pads to protect against
scratches, dings or dents.

A few basic steps are all it takes to protect your furniture and keep your new investment looking as beautiful as it did the day you bought it.

  • Cleaning your Canadel furniture is simple – a damp cloth is all you need.
  • For your comfort and to preserve your furniture, use a humidifier, dehumidifier or air conditioner to keep your home’s relative humidity between 30 and 40%.
  • Avoid dragging hardwood furniture when moving it.
  • Store table leaves as close as possible to the table itself. It’s better to store dining room table leaves in an upstairs closet than in a damp basement.
  • Avoid placing your wooden furniture directly in front of radiators, heating vents or wood burning stoves.
  • Immediately wipe away any liquid that spills on the table top.
  • Avoid using window cleaners as they contain ammonia, which can damage the
  • furniture’s lacquer finish.
  • To protect your furniture’s finish, avoid exposing it to direct sunlight on a daily basis.
  • Please take note that the product’s finish takes 21 days after the manufacturing date shown below to fully cure.

Prior to this date, use your furniture in a meticulous way to avoid damaging the finish.
